Youth Recreational Activities

“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.” –  Fred Rogers

Every weekday after school, recreational activities are available in which to participate at the James V. Harmon Community Center in the center of Hastings village which include but are not limited to foosball, pool, indoor basketball, art, exercise, cooking classes, and computer time. Being able to unwind and spend time with friends with adult supervision is a good choice for any Hastings youth who want a safe and secure environment whether they have absentee parents at home or whether they are working, ill, or not emotionally available. The Youth Advocate Program tries to make resources available to these youth in need by providing enriching activities, mentorships by our professional staff, and support for any immediate or long-term psychological or physical voids and/or needs.
