Homework Help

You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives.- Clay P. Bedford

Homework Help is offered as a service to any kids that are in need. English as a second language is offered once per week and is typically taught by volunteer high school students. On a daily basis, the Youth Advocate Staff is also available to assist anyone in attendance at the community center.

ESL Homework Help

English as a second language

This program is conducted weekly at the Community Center.  Students of all grades whose primary language is not English are paired with a tutor (adult or older student). This program runs the entire school year and services 15 students as well as providing volunteer opportunities for approximately 10 high school students. Snacks are provided by the youth advocate program. The volunteers and students are coordinated by the youth advocate staff.
