Family and Individual Counseling

The child must know that he is a miracle, that since the beginning of the world there hasn't been, and until the end of the world there will not be, another child like him.-- Pablo Casals

The Youth Advocate Program is available to help needy individuals and their families for individual and/or group counseling. Sometimes people find themselves in difficult situations in which they need outside assistance to help solve acute problems. The Youth Services' professional staff members will attempt to provide an initial assessment of the problem and will recommend outside support services if necessary. This service is provided free of charge to youth of Hastings on Hudson who have been identified by a parent, their school or by police involvement to have been engaging in maladaptive behaviors, such as; drinking, using drugs, being involved with peers engaged in this behavior or having a parent who may have a substance abuse issue. This service often serves as a platform for those who may need a higher level of treatment (outpatient or residential services) or mental health services.

If you or someone you may know or someone who is in your care needs counseling assistance, please contact the Youth Services Director at 914-478-2471.
